As you prepare for the start of school, there are several steps you can take now to help you make the most of your time and investment. The College Success Program is designed to help you get ready for the required courses in your program, which can mean taking fewer classes, spending less money, and graduating sooner. You will also become familiar with the technology and tools you’ll need to succeed, so you don’t miss important deadlines or emails and can easily find support when you need it.
Getting Started: CASAS Assessment
Begin the program by taking the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems (CASAS) test. This assessment identifies your strengths and the areas where you may need additional support, allowing instruction to be tailored to your individual needs.
Foundations of Student Success
College is a major transition, and it often comes with increased demands on your time. Balancing school, work, family, and life can be challenging, which makes organization and planning essential.
This course focuses on understanding college expectations, managing stress, building strong organizational skills, and learning how to access support when needed. You’ll also learn how to use free academic resources that can help reduce pressure and support your success.
How to Study in College
College requires you to manage a large amount of information through lectures, readings, and assignments. This course introduces proven study strategies used by successful students.
You will learn how to:

Show Me the Money: Financial Aid & Credit
Paying for college is an important part of the journey. This course helps you understand financial aid options, including grants, scholarships, and student loans.
You’ll also learn how financial aid works, discover funding opportunities you may not be aware of, and gain insight into student loan repayment and credit management after graduation.
Making the Most of College: Resources & Support
College offers many resources designed to help you succeed—but knowing where to start can feel overwhelming.
This class introduces you to the support systems available on campus, including tutoring, advising, career services, and transfer pathways. You’ll learn how to access these services and meet the people who can help you reach your goals, making it easier to feel confident and connected from day one.
